Canggu – Bali

After a couple of nights in Seminyak we made our way to Canggu where we found a little hidden gem to base ourselves for a night. I should probably say at this point, that I’ll be raving about most of the places we stayed, but all for very different reasons. We were incredibly lucky with most of our accommodation particularly because we were booking as we went. It was a bit of a pinch me moment when we arrived at our Canggu base because they had one of those beautiful little swimming pools that’s the most inviting turquoise you could ever see. The kind that Bali is famous for (in my mind at least!). The room was basic but perfect. And in the morning, when they served up a freshly cooked breakfast on the veranda, I discovered the tastiest banana pancakes I’ve ever had. All for £15 a night – crazy, right?!

Anyway, we arrived in Canggu early in the afternoon and, having finished our first Bintang of the day as we floated around the pool and soaked up some sun, decided to hire a scooter and head out to Finn’s beach club.

Finn’s is perched on the edge of a white sand beach with live music filling the air and an infinity pool perfectly positioned to catch the sunset. Sip on cocktails and snack on delicious bites; I would recommend the chicken satay! You pay 500,000rp (about £25) for a single day bed, all of which is fully redeemable against food and drink.

There’s something about palm trees against a sunset backdrop…

A great place to while away a day, and an evening!

The ride home was interesting, it seems like even more mopeds are on the road at night!

And here are the pancakes… simple but delicious!

We stayed in Umah Tikari which we found through Booking.com – check it out here.

It was over coffee that morning that we found the dreamiest of destinations… onto Uluwatu!
