What do you wear to an engagement party when it’s being hosted outside, near the coast, on a bank holiday weekend… in England. The lack of certainty on an answer to this meant my outfit planning was left dangerously last minute.
The engagement party in question was for one of my best girlfriends and her new fiancé, hosted at her parents beautiful house. Seeing them so happy together and being able to share these times with them is so special, it’s such an exciting year!
In light of the occasion, I decided to opt for something a little more romantic and appropriate for the sunshine that was due to make an appearance. If you’ve read previous posts, you will know that I’m trying to inject a bit of colour into my wardrobe and try some new things (ie not jeans!)
I absolutely adore this dress from Whistles that I settled on. The pattern, style and colour were, unbeknown to me, exactly what I was looking for. I accessorised it with my dainty gold Anarchy Street jewellery – it was pointed out to me that the moon necklace complimented the stars on the dress very well!
Luckily, I also needed my sunglasses! The sun came out just as the guests arrived. We enjoyed a few glasses of champagne, afternoon tea on the lawn and lots of excited chattering with friends. The bridesmaids were given these great little goodie bags too! Next up, the hen do!
