I’ve been wanting to try out a new foundation for a while now and have heard great things about Laura Mercier. So when my beloved Bobbi Brown foundation stick ran out I headed straight to Space.NK in search of my new perfect match.
Having parked myself at the Laura Mercier counter, I chatted to the beauty consultant about what I was hoping to find. For me, foundation is all about creating a soft, fresh, dewy look. I do wear foundation pretty much every day but I like to be as natural as possible and don’t like a heavy base at all.
So with that in mind, I was introduced to their newest arrival, Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation. As the name might suggest, Candleglow has been designed to mimic the reflective glow of just lit candles. It’s been created using purified water to help keep skin refreshingly hydrated and offers light to medium, buildable coverage.
After four patient attempts at a colour match, we both agreed that Vanille was the one for me.
I was surprised at how pale it looked at first but it does match my skin really well once blended out. Once set with some translucent powder, I like to warm up my skin a little with some bronzer – we all love a bit of contouring right?!
It’s been a couple of weeks since I started using Candleglow and I’m happy to say I really like it! It feels great on my skin – it’s weightless, breathable and I do believe it lives up to it’s name of creating a soft, luminous look.
