Birthdays should always start with a cup of tea in bed and the sun shining through your window. Lucky for me, thats how mine began on Saturday!
Having opened a few cards and presents, we set off for Cirencester to enjoy a birthday coffee in Made by Bob (the best kind of coffee) and a wander around the shops.
I always love to look in Sue Parkinson – they stock everything from Mulberry to DVF, Kate Spade to Neom. I particularly liked these ‘Two of a Kind’ luggage tags by Kate Spade – one to pick up ahead of this years travels. We popped into the florist where Mum treated me to some beautiful roses, before heading off to The Village Pub in Barnsley for lunch.
We parked up and wandered through the beautiful Cotswold village in the sun, stopping now and then to admire the picture perfect surroundings.
Totally out of character for me, I even added some colour into my outfit, seeing as it was a special occasion…
I love this pink top from Whistles! Paired with my staple black jeans and white pumps.
Inside the pub we settled down with glasses of prosecco and made our lunch order; Dad and I opted to share a ham hock dish, served with cauliflower cheese and kale.
How great does that look! It was tough, but we struggled through to the very end!
Well fed (with a little bit of space for birthday cake) we left the little idyll and headed home to settle down with more prosecco and a good old fashioned rugby match…
…which England won of course 🙂
